Things to Do in Tampa
In Tampa, the weather is almost as hot as its attractions. Check out Broadway performances at the David A. Straz Jr., Center for the Performing Arts, catch a flick at the movie palace of the Tampa Theatre that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places or get up-close-and-personal with lions at Big Cat Rescue. Busch Gardens is a hotspot for the whole family - especially adrenaline buffs - packing roller coasters and an animal habitat home to more than 12,000 creatures, making it one of the largest zoos in North America. Once you work up an appetite, make your way to some of the top restaurants around, including Bern's Steak House, Pane Rustica and Ocean Prime.
With so many days of sunshine, you won't want to miss a visit to the beach. Fort De Soto Park was named "Best Family Beach" in Florida by USA Today and Clearwater Beach landed "Best Beach Town" in Florida in January 2013 by USA Today. In the spring, visitors can watch the New York Yankees and other baseball all-stars train at the Steinbrenner Field for Spring Training. On the off chance there is a rainy day, you can head to the domed IMAX theater of the Museum of Science and Industry.
