About LaGuardia Airport

LaGuardia Airport is one of three major hubs that service the Big Apple. It's New York City's domestic facility, and it's overseen by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. While it's the least busy of the metropolitan area's airports, LaGuardia sees a whopping 24 million travelers each year, making it the most active in the country among those that do not offer non-stop service to Europe. Though mainly domestic, the establishment offers flights to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Aruba and Canada.

The airport is located in the borough of queens and spans 680 acres, consisting of two runways (each stretching over 7,000 feet), 76 gates and four main terminals. As you make your way through the building, be sure to check out the wide array of amenities within. Grab a drink at Revive Bar, enjoy a sandwich from Au Bon Pain or some French cuisine from Bisoux. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities, and many of the stores can be found in Terminals B and C. Afterward, head to one of the luxurious hotels near LaGuardia Airport, such as the Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Another option is the Hampton Inn, situated just outside of the facility.

Welcome to New York City

The Big Apple, the City That Never Sleeps, the Center of the Universe - whatever you call it, no matter what you call it, New York City continues to be the U.S. hub of culture, business, art, food, fashion media and academia. It's the country's most populous metropolis, with some 8.2 million people calling it home. In fact, it was the 15th largest city in the world as of 2014. Add in the more than 50 million tourists who come to the destination for work and play, and one can imagine how bustling and vibrant this city can be.

The landscape itself is quite large, taking up 305 square miles along the Hudson River at the southern edge of the state. The city is divided into five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx. Within these areas are hundreds of neighborhoods filled with diverse populations. The urban locale is a melting pot of sorts, bringing together people from every nation around the world. But the New York Metropolitan area extends even further, incorporating southwestern Connecticut and northern New Jersey, and LaGuardia Airport also provides service to these areas.
