Things to Do in Hartford
Stop by America's first public art museum, Wadsworth Atheneum, which was founded in 1842. Here, you'll find more than 45,000 works of art in the permanent collection that you can peruse. Some of the popular pieces include French and American impressionist pieces, Hudson River School landscapes, modernist and contemporary works and early American furniture.
When the weather is nice, stroll through Bushnell Park, which is the first publicly funded park in America and was designed by the architect of New York City's Central Park. The park boasts 50 acres of green space with gorgeous natural views and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy a meal al fresco, wander along a path or watch your kids play.
