Is four attractions rolled into one. This center, located east of the airport, contains the Museum, the Carolina SeaQuarium, the Omnisphere Theater and Animal Discovery Zoological Park. Animal Discovery Zoological Park is open every day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. This zoo has an extensive collection of animals including wallabies, giant anteaters, coatimundis and tigers. Keeper Talks are presented throughout the day to inform zoo guests about the individual species and their behaviors.

The Museum is dedicated to teaching the public about science and natural history. One of the highlights of this area is the Prehistoric Passage exhibit with a full-scale model of a T-Rex. Fossils, and other dinosaur related items, are also on display. The Carolina SeaQuarium is home to an abundance of sea life. Visitors will see many species of shark, rays and eels. Animals that live near the sea are also prominent including otters and penguins.

The Omnisphere Theater shows various films throughout the year. Most presentations are about space, exploration, the natural world and the science of earth.

Is also located east of the airport. This park is the site of an important battle during the American Revolutionary War. Some scholars believe that the British forces were so weakened by their encounter here that it contributed to their eventual surrender at the Battle of Saratoga.

The Visitor’s Center and Museum detail the armaments and history of the battle. The park also makes a great place to walk, take a bike ride or enjoy a picnic with the family.

The Bog Garden

Is a natural wetland that is over seven acres in area. Visitors walk through and observe the site by means of an elevated, wooden walkway that winds through the interior of the garden. A variety of birds and animals are readily visible on this nature walk. The highlights of the walk are Serenity Falls and Benjamin Lake. There is also a forest walk nearby accessed by means of a stone pathway. This attraction is open daily during daylight hours.

The Weatherspoon Art Museum

Located near the campus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This art museum was founded in 1941, and it houses a permanent collection of over 6,000 pieces. The collection concentrates on art work created from the beginning of the 20th century onward to the present period. Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning and Robert Henri are just a few of the artists represented at the Weatherspoon. The museum is not open on Mondays.

All-A-Flutter Butterfly Farm
