About Boston Logan Airport

Logan International Airport is the main portal to Boston as well as the entire New England region. It's located less than 4 miles from the downtown area, and the facility is sort of a city in itself. The site spans 1,700 acres and contains within it both police and fire departments, two hotels, a chapel for all denominations and a power plant. There are four terminals (A, B, C and E) with nearly 100 gates that provide service from more than 40 airlines. Flights come in from some 100 destinations from around the globe and across the country, and some of the major carriers include American Airlines, US Airways and Delta.

Guests seeking accommodations in Boston can turn to the wide selection of hotels near Logan International Airport. The Holiday Inn Express Cambridge, for instance, is only four miles from the hub and is conveniently located right by the Lechmere public transit stations, which give you easy access to downtown Boston and the outlying neighborhoods. Visitors can also stay at the Hilton, which is connected to the hub by a skybridge and offers free shuttle services for guests.

Welcome to Boston

As the largest metropolis in New England and the capital of Massachusetts, Boston is one of the region's most popular tourist destinations. About 12 million people visit the city each year for business and leisure. In fact, it's among the top 10 tourist spots in the U.S. It's home to some of America's most prestigious schools, including Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, giving the locale a unique intellectual appeal and a thriving scholarly community. It's divided into several districts, such as the historic Beacon Hill, Brighton, Allston and Roxbury.

Keep in mind that the streets in this city are winding (unlike most metropolises that are designed like a grid), and navigating the streets can be difficult for those unfamiliar with the locale. It's best to avoid driving, but guests at Logan International hotels can get to downtown Boston as well as the surrounding neighborhoods using the reliable and convenient Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (note that buses and trains are marked either "inbound" or "outbound" to distinguish whether they're going to or from the downtown Park Street station).
