The Bangor International Airport offers four types of parking for those leaving their vehicles at the airport and those dropping off passengers. All of the parking lots take major credit cards or cash payments. Each parking area has handicap spaces available for drivers with disabilities, though the vehicles must show proper stickers or license plates.

Airport Parking

The courtesy parking areas offer free parking for drivers dropping off travelers. These spots have a 15-minute time limit, and anyone who stays longer will need to pay a fee. The Domestic Terminal also has free parking available for those who need to unload baggage before entering the airport.

An hourly and daily parking lot is also available. The hourly lot charges a set fee based on the number of hours that the vehicle stays parked, while the daily lot charges a rate per day. Both lots are close to Godfrey Boulevard, which is the main road running through the airport. There are large signs along the road that direct travelers to each parking lot.

Those flying into the Bangor International Airport can rent a car from one of several agencies inside the terminal. Avis, Budget, Hertz, and Alamo/National all have rental agency counters on-site. The agencies often have cars available throughout the week, but some travelers might prefer making a reservation to ensure a specific type of vehicle.

Bangor Airport Transportation

Nearly 40 taxi companies provide travelers with rides to and from the airport. Town Taxi, AAA Yellow Cab and MDI Taxi Tour are just a few of the available options. Eddie’s Island Taxi, LLC is one of the few companies offering 24/7 service, providing help to passengers arriving late and those traveling on holidays or weekends.

Vacationers flying out of the Bangor International Airport can opt for hotel shuttle from one of eight hotels in the city, including Days Inn, Hampton Inn, Super 8 Motel, and the Bangor Motor Inn. These shuttles are free for guests of the hotel, and the shuttles make regular trips to and from the airport. The Bangor Area Transportation Company for the City of Bangor, or BAT, is the city bus system in Bangor, and the bus takes daily trips to the airport.

The Bangor International Airport also provides amenities and services for travelers. TDD phone service is available for the hard of hearing, and the Domestic Terminal has an ATM for those who need to get cash. The airport also maintains its own Lost and Found, which guests can visit or call for more information. Those traveling with children can also request a free coloring book that includes images of the airport and the large moose, which is the mascot of the Bangor International Airport.
