Being a gateway into one of the most popular Mediterranean vacation destinations, it’s not surprising that Antalya Airport is served by more than 80 airlines. In fact, very few other airports in the world are served by so many airline companies. Sky Airlines is the busiest airline at Antalya Airport. This major Turkish airline company is actually headquartered at the airport and has been formed in 2001 specifically to accommodate the growing volume of tourists visiting the city of Antalya.
Sky Airlines takes tourists from more than 80 different destinations to Turkey’s popular Mediterranean city. This major Turkish carrier offers flights to large cities in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Scandinavian region and many other countries in Europe. The busy Turkish airline company also offers several domestic flights such as to Ankara and Istanbul. Passengers can board the Sky Airlines fleet from Terminal 2 at Antalya Airport.
SunExpress is another major Turkish airline that is based in Antalya Airport. All year long, this Turkish carrier provides flights to major domestic destinations including Adana, Izmir, Istanbul, Samsun, and Trabzon. Most of the seasonal flights offered by SunExpress are to large German cities including Berlin, Dresden, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart.
Corendon Airlines is also based in Antalya Airport. This small regional airline company connects Antalya mostly with Central and Northern Europe. In fact, Corendon Airlines provides direct service to more than 10 German cities.
Because of the busy Sky Airlines schedule, Turkish Airlines offers limited service at Antalya Airport. Turkey’s flag carrier airline connects Antalya with both of the main international airports in the country’s largest city of Istanbul. The Turkish capital city of Ankara is also directly connected to Antalya via Turkish Airlines service. Turkish Airlines also offers flights to the neighboring Iraqi cities Baghdad and Erbil (Kurdistan.) Moscow Vnukovo International Airport is another major destination offered by the Turkish flag carrier.
Other major Turkish airline companies that serve Antalya Airport include Pegasus Airlines and FreeBird Airlines. Both of these airlines offer great service mostly within Europe.
Most of the airlines serving Antalya Airport are from European countries, Russia, and neighboring Middle Eastern nations. Some of the major flag carrier airlines that serve Antalya include Aeroflot, Austrian Airlines, Bulgaria Air, Croatia Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, and Ukraine International Airlines. Unfortunately, there are no direct flights between Antalya Airport and North American destinations, so U.S. and Canadian passengers have to use international airlines and make transfers.
