Six airlines offer nearly 200 flights each week from Akron-Canton Regional Airport to several important transportation hubs located in the continental United States. Some of the most popular airlines that offer these flights include Tran Airways, Delta Airlines, and Southwest Airlines.

Delta Airlines is an Atlanta-based airline that was founded in 1925 by a Louisiana crop duster who offered commercial flights to destinations located in Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida. It is now one of the world’s three largest airlines that offer flights to American travelers.

Delta Airlines offers nearly 60 non-stop flights each week to Atlanta and Detroit. Nearly half of these flights are offered by many of Delta’s subsidiaries including ExpressJet and Pinnacle Airlines.

Delta Airlines offers many amenities to passengers who board these flights. For example, passengers who sit in the coach section are offered drinks and light snacks. Moreover, passengers who sit in the business section are offered satellite TV service, showers and fax services.

Southwest Airlines is a Dallas-based airline that offers budget-minded consumers fast and efficient service. It was founded in 1971 by a group of Dallas residents who wanted to take advantage of the growing demand for air travel in the Southwest. It currently offers Akron residents over 25 flights each week to Chicago’s Midway Airport and Denver.

At least 60 percent of these flights offer non-stop service to Chicago and Denver. The remaining flights make stops at several transportation hubs located in the Southwest including Albuquerque, New Mexico; Phoenix, and Salt Lake City.

Southwest Airlines offers several meal options to passengers who board these flights. The most popular options are lunch specials that include soft drinks, sandwiches, and desserts. Other popular meal options are dinner specials that include cocktails and over one dozen entrée options.

Each of these airlines operates a customer service center at Akron-Canton Regional Airport. They are located near the airport’s main concourse and security checkpoints.
